Day 1 – Reykjavík and Keflavík

Day one was mostly speant in Reykjavik and Keflavik. Just walking arround looking at all the fantastic designer shops, some architecture and buying a new suitcase

John has never been in Reykjavik before so we had to see the most important stuff in town within a walking distances.

Harpan being one of them ofcourse – the architects who designed this concert hall recently won a big award for their work on Harpan and I can see why.

We didn’t really stay in Reykjavik that long, since our hotel is in Keflavik.

Shortly after arriving at the hotel room John had a little mishap trying to play cool with his candy.

We decided to go for a walk and look arround Keflavik. And found the cutest little shop selling items from local designers. These sheep by Haddy Glerlist really caught our attention and after long consideration we decided to buy the orange one. Hopefully it doesn’t break on our long journey.

Some sightseeing. All the wind made it hard to take pictures without everything blowing in our faces. Meaning my hair and scarf in particular.

All the sightseeing made us hungry, so we decided to find a place to eat. A local resturant called Ráin got our attention to try some Icelandic specialties.

I whent with the whale meet – minke whale they told me. Served grilled on the outside and somewhat raw on the inside. Not really what I am used to, but it was, actually quite good.

John ordered the lamb and lobster dish. Tasting yummy he said.

All in all a good day.
