Practice Makes Perfect

Since John never has been much of a horse person, mainly because of his non existsing experience or contact for that matter with horses. We wanted to go for at least one more ride before we are heading to Victoria.

It was a nice day for a ride – at least when we went.

So we grabbed the horses and saddled up. Here in Canada they have western ridding and therefore also most of the horses have western gear. Ben has a western saddle as you can see on the picture.

While Curly has an Australian saddle – a mixture between Western and English.

I ofcourse had to ride on Ben.

My all time favorite horse.

There is just something special about him. Even though he isn’t always strong enough to keep up with the other horses, he sure will try.

image

Not because you make him – but because he really wants to. I find it lucky that he lives here on the farm, so he can have owners and riders who will understand his condition and respect him enough not to push him too much if he has a bad day.

John also tried to ride Ben the last part of our trail and he said he could definitely feel the difference between the two horses.

But still Curly and John are a better match and I just can get ovet how good and confident John is about riding.

All in all it was a really good ride, too bad we are going away on Monday allready.

We sure are going to miss Curly and Ben. But hopefully this won’t be our last chance at horseback riding together.
